Passionate watchmakers
In 1937, after their marriage in Bienne, Mr. Marcel NICOLET and Mrs. Edwige NICOLET, maiden name HASLER, moved to Geneva and took over a store that had been on the square since the 19th century: “Au diamant”. Mr. and Mrs. NICOLET chose this neighborhood for its privileged location, close to the shores of the lake and to the holiday resorts of Geneva’s tourists and residents. Thanks to the couple’s dynamism and growing reputation with international customers, the family business survived the Second World War from 1939 to 1945. In 1956, the store was renamed Bijouterie PASTORE-NICOLET following the marriage of their eldest daughter, Liliane NICOLET PASTORE. Two sons were born of this marriage: Patrick obtained his CFC (Certificat de Capacité Fédérale) as a watchmaker, and joined the company in 1981. As for Cédric, he passed his CFC in management-accounting and joined the team in 1984; the third generation was on the move. In 1992, Bijouterie PASTORE-NICOLET became PASTORE-NICOLET SA, and in 1999 the first website was created, enabling sales to be extended worldwide via bank transfers.
